NTD: The 64th Cannes Film Festival runs through to May 22 De Niro Arrives in France for Cannes Film Festival

The 64th Cannes Film Festival is about to kick-off. And excitement is brewing as screen legend Robert De Niro meets with fellow jurors ahead of what is promising to be one of the most glamorous Cannes film festivals in years.

Cannes Jury President Robert De Niro met with fellow judges at the luxury Martinez Hotel in the French Riviera town on Tuesday.

De Niro was joined by British actor Jude Law, French actress Melanie Laurent and director Emir Kusturica before they officially meet the press ahead of the festival opening.

The jury will have their work cut out for them with competition entries from art-house giants - and Cannes veterans - Pedro Almodovar, Lars von Trier, and Terrence Malick, with their films "The Skin I Live In", "Melancholia", and "The Tree of Life".

The 64th Cannes Film Festival runs through to May 22.
