- Shen Yun
Shen Yun Performing Arts arrived at the Austrian city of Bregenz for the first time and performed at the Bregenzer Festspielhalle on Tuesday. Bregenz is a picturesque city that lies by the shores of Lake Constance. Locals call it the four-borders-corner, as it’s situated by the border regions of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The wife of the Consul of Russia to Lichtenstein, Mrs. Büchel, is a pianist and was impressed by the solos.
[Mrs. Büchel, Pianist]:
“Everything is really right, very professional. The dancers are all the same height, the formation on stage is precise, absolutely synchronized movements, and done with ease. You can just see that they worked and trained so much, until they could probably do it blindfolded, as we say here—very beautifully done. The orchestra was a wonderful accompaniment.”
As a musician, Mrs. Büchel was especially fascinated by the two stringed Chinese instrument—the erhu.
[Mrs. Büchel, Pianist]: (German, Female)
“Well, I would have liked to have a closer look at the Chinese instruments, and I would’ve liked to try them. I mentioned that before, that something unique like this is not known at all in Europe. It was an enrichment to hear more about the two stringed violin--fascinating how the soloist played it, wonderful with such a beautiful sound and yes with a very soft sound—very beautiful.”
After performing for a second time in Bregenz, Shen Yun will be performing in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday, March 28.
