In Michigan, several government officials saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Detroit Opera House.
Michigan State Senator Mike Kowall says the show plays an important role for the Chinese people.
[Mike Kowall, State Senator]: “In order to know where you’re going in the future, you have to understand your past.”
His wife Eileen is a State Representative for District 44, White Lake.
[Eileen Kowall, State Representative]: “It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s stunningly beautiful and so fluid. It takes you away from where you’re at and takes you into a different world.”
State Representative Gail Haines reminisced about her experiences in China.
[Gail Haines, State Representative]: “The backdrops really take me back to some of the places that we’ve visited like the Summer Palace and Forbidden City. Those backdrops were wonderful. And the costumes are just lovely, the colors and the movement and the flow of it is all just so peaceful. I’m really enjoying the show, very much.”
Mr. Kowall encouraged more people to see Shen Yun.
[Mike Kowall, State Senator]: “Let’s get everybody out to see it. It’s a lot of fun. I think all of Detroit should come out and see this show.”
