Norway’s Royal Couple Tours Bomb Site

King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway on Sunday visited the site of Friday’s bomb blast which killed seven people in the Norwegian capital.

They also paid a visit to a local hospital and met staff and a patient injured in the blast.

Ninety-three people were killed in a shooting spree in the small island of Utoeya and car bombing by 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik.

Police said some people remain missing and 97 were wounded.

The violence, Norway’s worst since World War Two, has profoundly shocked the usually peaceful nation of 4.8 million.

„We have been shocked by the violence, we have been shocked by all the people that have lost their lives, but at the same time Norway is united, Norway is standing together and the message is very clear that this violence is not going to reduce our ability to be an open, democratic society.“

Earlier in the day, King Harald and Stoltenberg were among mourners at a service in Oslo cathedral.
